Please take a minute to review the article “Hidden Water Dangers” RDH Magazine, January 2013. http://www.rdhmag.com/articles/print/volume-33/issue-1/featues/dental-unit-waterlines-pose-dangers.html
This article will alert one and all. Please be aware that this biofilm is not easily managed and something to be concerned about. Patients have died due to waterlines and the women in Italy brought this problem to the forefront. 2 Dentists in CA have died from their own dental unit waterlines. Let’s stop all dental waterline fatalities.
Filters will NOT affect the biofilm on the inside of water bottles, tubing, or uptake straw. This article contains options for dental practices with a plethora of choices of what waterline product to use. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I am always here to help!
View water bottle in the photo – it’s black at the bottom this is
mold, mildew. This bottle
must be thrown away,
replaced with a new bottle.
Bleach will not do the trick.
It is important to test your
waterlines every 4 months.
Better to be safe that sorry!
Liability for this type of risk
is out of the ball park. Just
do it! Test each operatory,
and find out if what your
doing is working – or not!
